Wonderful creature. It floats about the ocean and then when the wind is blowing in the right direction it heads towards the beach where they attach themselves to unsuspecting swimmers. They have rather long strings of little hooks that grab your skin and your first reaction is to rub them off but that only makes it worse. it’s best to grab them and just peel them off slowly. Not a lot of fun but living in Australia it does happen and is almost a right of passage for die hard beach goers.

To eaze the pain of the sting you can douse yourself with vinegar, pee on your wound, scream and faint or just get liquored up !

The choice is yours.

Welcome to Australia where we have the wackiest critters on the planet !

PS… When they wash up on the beach and dry out it is a chance for revenge by jumping on them. they make the most delightful popping noise !
