My entry into the positive posters project. This years theme was change.
This poster appears to address the brief in a very straight forward manner. The metamorphosis of the caterpillar into the beautiful butterfly is an obvious response. But the notion to ‘move on’ implies choice and attitude shifts that are not necessarily an inevitable process (as a catepillar’s natural rebirth). It invites the viewer to reassess the seemingly simple concept delivered via minimal shapes in stark hues.

Narr. Suppose it was too obvious in its approach. i only found out about the contest on the night entries closed. So I threw it together with no real time. Looking back now I would have liked to draw the caterpillar from a top view instead of side view. Maybe I could have tried a humorous idea (hard to be witty on the spot).

Thanks Penny. As a pster I wanted the initial concept to be clear and easily recognised. Then hopefully deeper meanings start to come to the fore.
