ADLER Tessy de luxe typewriter

I love playing around on my typewriter. Most people don’t understand why I hold on to this ‘piece of crap’. I took these photographs to try to show others how I see it:
beautiful
romantic?
functional
of nostalgic value

Other old stuff.

  • Steve Leadbeater replied

I was too scared to say that. I feel the same way.

Cheers titus – I love the high contrast (black, white, red) of this typewriter – esp the TAB key.

This is a brilliant piece of graphic design Steve and would look stunning a wall canvas and I understand why you hold on to such things, because they are beautiful intimate crafted machines. I recently came across my grandfathers pocket kodak from 1909 and the intricacy, like your typwriter, is wonderful…...

Thanks for your comments bej. Glad you appreciate the detail too.

you beautifully described a piece in photos and words.
    i love typewriters too
and anyone can clearly see why in your pictures.
it just is a forgotten and special time
where quality and communication was more worth than rush hour and money.

  • Steve Leadbeater replied

Thanks so much for your kind words of understanding and encouragement – much appreciated.
