I have for many years now been telling all and sundry that I’m loaded and ready to shoot! Yee Har I see this shirt and I think it’s GREAT not to mention groovy. well done Stephen.

I agree. It’s privacy gone mad. A public place should have no restriction!!! I do photos every week for the local newspaper – the hoops we have to jump through for permissions I can understand at times, but at public events its downright ridiculous – kills creativity too. My rule of thumb is if there are more than 4 people in the shot, it’s okay without explicit permission. Fortunately, there are a lot of event organisers etc who now have a warning that photographs may be taken for publicity etc. which makes life a bit easier.

Yep, there are so many things to consider when we shoot images nowadays, but we still have most of our freedom.

However there is a growing group of vocal minorities who would be happy for all public photography to be stopped completely. We, as photographers need to get the message across that we will not accept that.

So far common sense has prevailed, but how long this will last is the big unknown…..
