Polar bear mum and her two cubs as they enter the icy cold water. This was really great to see, although the light was starting to go as the fog came in, but still very special!
The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so!
I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut!

That is a very beautiful yet moving picture, as currently many of the young never make it to a another ice shelf to find food. Many starve or drown from exhaustion. the melting of the ice in the Arctic has caused many deaths of the Polar bears and othr arctic animals, which was casued by the greehouse effect that Man managed to create.
It is our selfish and greedy actions that causes all this suffering and much more to come, not just to animals but humans too.
I urge people and their Gvoerments to reduce carbon omission , to reduce the massive waste and start thinking further than their noses. Only radical measure made effective now can stop the melting of the ice, the rising water that will casue sever flooding in all countries, the death of humans and animals.
Sadly some very major countries, have lived in denial for more than twenty years, this includes, America, China and India who are the major contributors to this global warming. then we could could have halted the effect, now it is unstoppable, all we can do is to slow it down, but we need to act now. Not next year or the year after, but NOW.

Great timing, Steve! The slightly hazy effect is quite attractive actually! ;o)

A wonderful image and the lack of clarity actually increases the impact. So very, very moving.
