Resting Cubs
WILD & FREE
Polar bear cubs having a short rest on an ice floe.
The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so!
I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut!

How fortunate for you to be able to see the wonders of this world. But the crowing glory is that you capture the beauty with such perfection.
The sadness, is the reality that humans have managaed to destroy this planet. Many creatures and plants will one day be just a memory in a picture book.
Embrace every momenta and every second of this planets miracles before it disappears forever.

Beautiful capture of these polar bears. It is SO sad they are finding less ice to habitat on. I watched a documentary the other night about it, and the problem is only getting worse. It’s heartwrenching to watch. Thanks for sharing, and also writing about it!!! I don’t think people are aware that they are swimming so far, only to find there is nothing, and they do drown. It’s so unfortunate. There are happier stories, but the reality of it is they are dying from drowning, starving, and even there cubs are unable to survive because of the ice conditions, less food, and thus the male polar bears may kill the cubs. Sorry to ramble on, I am just very upset that it’s really happening. Your portfolio is AMAZING by the way!!!
