Arctic Tern – Up Close!

WILD AND FREE

On the last morning of our Arctic trip we had a few hours to spend in Longyearbyen before our departure. We went for a walk along the shore and came across these Arctic Terns. They were very protective and dived bombed everyone.

This image was taken with a 10mm lens – so he was pretty close!

(Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic)

Great shot with such a small lens. Terns are quite aggressive when the mood takes them lol Brilliant shot, Steve! ~ Skye

Good Capture Steve, here in Shetland we have them flying about the house all summer and they have such a distinct call. I got a couple of pics of them but its so hard, they dart and dive all over the place. So well done for getting it to stand still. ha ha.
