I think we would agree that eyes alone can convey what a person or animal is feeling at the time of the capture. Sometimes you can even catch the core personality of the subject through the eyes alone.

Whether I achieved that or not with this shot is debatable, but it is certainly what I strived for.
(taken at the Los Angeles Zoo with a Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 lens).

    What a great little guy!!!!

  • LOL, well, he was smaller than some of his Kin, but I don’t know if “little” is a word I would have used. I think he is a teenager. Thanks for the view and for the favoriting. I always count those heavily in seeing how the shot is accepted by my peers.

This made me think of a TV show I watched as a kid here in Canada! It was called the Friendly Giant and his friend was a giraffe called Jerome! Not sure if it was an American production or not…Amazing capture of this animal, very soft doe-like eyes and really a calm demeanour about him!

  • Ha, never heard of it. If it was American I don’t know of it. Funny coincidence that I named the shot as I did. Thanks for the compliment on the capture Joanne.
