A day at Lake Powell

Lake Powell is one of the most scenic lakes in the USA with the lake encompassing almost 2,000 miles of shoreline. The water comes from many sources such as the snow melt from Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. The Colorado, Escalante, and San Juan rivers are the chief sources of water which empty into Lake Powell. Lake Powell also has 4 separate marinas which include the Wahweap Marina, Bullfrog Marina, Halls Crossing Marina, and Dangling Rope Marina. The lake is around 186 miles long and offers so many slot canyons, beaches, and interesting sites along the way. You can rent houseboats, paddleboats, and jet skis and head out to a multitude of places for photography or just for fun.

Some of the views near Wahweap provide balancing rocks, pinnacles, and buttes, and the rocks sometimes glow in shades of white, orange and red, while the water is a deep blue and becomes greenish as you close in to the shorelines or rocks.

This photograph was taken around Warm Creek and shows the awesome rock structures and beautiful cloud formations that you can find almost any day in late summer or early fall.

NOTE: Lake Powell is located in both Utah and Arizona and falls within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
