Rock Creek Canyon
Well over 9,000 feet, Mack Lake, bends around Rock Creek Canyon in the Eastern Sierras of California. Rock Creek Canyon is located along Highway 395 south of Mammoth Lakes, and west of Toms Place. Mack Lake is the first of many lakes within Little Lakes Valley and is located about 1/2 mile from the Mosquito Flat trailhead. Other amazing lakes in the area are Marsh Lake, Heart Lake, Box Lake, and Long Lake. This is truly an amazing journey if you ever head towards Bishop and Mammoth. The elevation can reach well over 12,000 feet and the views of the lakes and mountainscapes are breathtaking. I highly recommend the trip there in late summer or early fall.

Oh wow…I must have been close to this lake at the point I turned back!! I went hiking up the trail while my husband fished at Rock Creek Lake. It was starting to get dark & I didn’t want to be out on the trail alone. Can’t wait to get back up there and see further into the valley for myself!! Until then, I’ll just enjoy your beautiful photos!!! Thanks for sharing, Steve!!! Stunning shot!!!
