I didn’t mean this to come up as its for a calendar. It’s a mycena, but I don’t know what species. The hairs are infertile cells that get stuck to the growing mushroom.
It sure is very interesting and a fav for me, Steve. Absolutely beautiful, thanks for telling me what they are.

These are so eerily beautiful and look to be so delicate. A clear image with fantastic detail with great light and exposure and wonderful natural colour. The fine filaments give this fine fungi photo an interesting ‘alien’ feel.
