This one shows the cups before and after they open. The new cups have a “mother of pearl” type sheen to them. Each cup is about 10mm across, so they are easy to miss.
I live in the Northern Rivers of NSW and this is where much of my photography comes from, apart from the obvious like volcanoes. You can see more of my work at steveaxford.smugmug.com

My goodness Steve. Amazing. I love the colours. Sure look like pearls. . I have to keep an good eye out in the bush in Autumn. Never seen these in real. fantastic image !!
This one grows in one of my pot plants, and it’s certainly not autumn. But I’ve never seen one before either.

They’re amazing. I hope I get to see some one day too! Great picture.
G’day STEVE!
This has got to be the very best ‘Birds Nest’ shot I have seen to date and it is definitely one that will be hard to beat.
Not only have they been superbly photographed but this find shows them in all the stages of their development.
Lovely light and such subtle tones add to the attractiveness of this very fine fungi photography.

Thanks Dennis. It seems I may have achieved what I intended. It doesn’t always happen :-)

Another master image from the Maestro.
These are gorgeous! I have never seen anything like these before. I love the colors and textures you brought out in these.
I sure agree with Dennis ! He wrote that comment so perfectly. We better not Steve all though it is very tempting. ;o)) I dont want us in trouble with customs ….
No problem. I sent mushrooms to Melbourne so why not Tassie?
