I’ve never seen an egret do an aerial flip before. This one just did it for fun, but maybe the play has a more serious intent with defensive flying. There are a lot of raptors in the region. Kimberly, Australia.

No – I didn’t flip the photo, it really did fly upside down.

    I have seen acrobatic geese doing odd tumbles on the lake, but this is surely a unique shot.

    Great capture, I’ve seen herons do this, but not an egret.
