on our drive back home from Vienna to Innsbruck last Monday, we decided to take advantage of the great weather and go up to the Steinplatte above Waidring.
it’s not to high up your getting there, maybe some 1850m above sea level, but the view you get from up there is fantastic – especially when looking south towards the Hohe Tauern with the Gross Venediger, the Grossglockner and some other impressive mountains of the Alps.
this six shot pano was taken from a plattform that is attached to the mountain wall you can see to the left. it offers quite a view, as you don’t have to worry about any obstacles in front or directly below you – the only thing is that you shouldn’t be afraid of heights, as below there’s simply nothingness for the next 70m – and there are a few glass plates on the plattform to give you a better view down ;)
I am quite happy with the result, even though the sun was in my face and the air was quite polluted, as you can see in the far distance. still, it gives you a nice overview of part of the Austrian Alps.
