the Reed Corner (Riethoek) is a very precious little natural area surroundeed by highly populated neighbourhoods of Amsterdam SouthEast, the Netherlands. With it’s wooded banks, bushy area’s, wetlands and swamps, it’s paradise for birds and small animals.
Today, on Easter Sunday, I had a walk through the ReedCorner once again, and couldn’t help trying once again to capture one of my favourite water birds, the Crested Grebe:( Wikipedia ) . This one has a very funky hairdo, straight after diving for food… I bet he has spring in his blood already ;)
Great Crested Grebe is on the IUCN list of threatened species – Status: least concern.
