Two friends having a smoke and drink while sitting on the War Monument on the Dam in Amsterdam – Title of this photo is a free translation of the last words of the poem by Adriaan Ronald Holst, that is carved on the wall. “… blijft vrijheid ons deel” (“…will freedom [continue to] be our inheritance”)

    i love how the eye runs along that wall. it would have a complete new feel if you cropped off the tree at the left. more concentration on the persons.
