A wonderful contrast between the super rainbow colours of the subject branches and the dark greens of the background trees. Love the DOF and the sunlight hitting the subject branches which really attracts the attention of the viewers eyes.

  • :) You´re so kind! It was so windy and cloudy that day, and the dark clouds and somehow filtered light really enhanced the colours – nature´s light can be so fascinating… :)

My own way of trying to enhance the beauty of nature is to go for the detail – the details which make up a leaf for instance. The more difficult approach is to compose a photo with natural scale like your shot and make it like a painting or a place of natural beauty that when you see your photo – the viewer wants to GO THERE to see it for themselves. You certainly do that so well :)

  • Thanks, Paul – I wouldn´t call it more difficult though – each approach has it´s own challenges – and you have some gorgeous close ups too :D
I must admit: this photo really has to grow on me / I love it for it´s colours and light, still have been always a little hesitant because of those branches in the foreground covering/hiding so much of the background… almost like a curtain one would like to push aside to see what is behind… I think it´s because of the rather unusual approach of having the main subject in the very front, and a nice but less prominent landscape behind it…

What a lovely curtain it is :) The black lines of the branches of the tree at the front add to the detail of the front branches.Your framing shows the beauty of the coloured leaves against the everyday green leaves of the background. Your photo has the bright subject with the muted background and with DOF and lighting its PERFECTION. The difficulty I talk about is that – the smaller the leaves – the more they want to merge together and LOSE THEIR SHAPE.
Because of the patterns of colour in your shot – YOUR SHOT REALLY WORKS.

  • Beaming with proud by now – and of course BIG smile! – thanks a lot, my friend!
