It’s pissing down outside and the sheets are on the line.
Wonderful words by Nicole Ryan
ode to candy
We swam in clear water
soil dripped from our toes
murky minds
dirty hearts
promises
and false starts
mornings were afternoons
and the darkness was a friend.
You were
everything to me
but always second
to the line
to the chase
to the place
to that space
inside of me
It
opened up
and closed me in a little further
each time I pulled tighter.
There were days when the walls
dripped
exploded
closed
and folded
right into my skin
and the beginnings were always the best
thirsty anticipation
everything was forgotten after then.
I don’t remember
much
how I once was
only colours
and their expression
always so dissapointed
they don’t understand
how
and it never mattered anyway
because I’ve never felt so whole
now; that there are pieces of me missing.

Just love this one. So beautiful and disturbing

This reminds me of many restless nights. The colours and tones are soft but cold. It’s a great photo

i’m going to have to buy you a second set of sheets…it looks cold there…that’s perhaps what gives it the successful feel of disturbance.

exceptional. so hard to make something like this work, but you’ve done it! This is the kind of image that you can’t look at just once. bravo!

having to look and relook at this one – wow how one model and a plain bed can become so complex…great work

Steph, just came back on the bubble after a time away and saw this.
Love the shot. The powerpoints really stand out for me in this one. The skin tones and the smoothness seem to really work well.

very wise use of double exposition – both – smooth and disturbing
Paul (Quixote)...

Brilliant idea! Brilliant execution!
Duncan Waldron
I think you mean “the weather is micturatingly inclement…” ;-) The spartan setting really adds to the pathos here.

if only I ever had a model so beautiful and a setting so good .. I know I’d never do as well as this. Such a good creation

I sympathize so much with this woman trying to sleep in this severe room and mood. (In fact, right now I’m awake, sort of, at 4:44am Ohio time, feeling my bones ache.) The room and the title are so unsympathetic. I wish her thoughts were less worrying and more peaceful.

Great combination
