Artist's Description

I needed some quick sketches to shake things up, so I dashed these out for the Illustration group.

I was actually unclear if I should draw the man himself or one of his many characters… but really, given the option, who wouldn’t want to draw Alan Moore? Tho in the end I did two drawings and combined them here. :)

While I appreciate his many works, I’m not exactly a big fan. I like his more offbeat, obscure, relatively lighthearted works (although even those can be pretty intense). The picture he’s holding is Sergeant Kemlo from the book “Top Ten” — a police drama set in a city where everyone has superpowers. He’s not one of the biggest or flashiest characters in the book, but I always liked him. :)

(and yes, he is a talking dog in a person-suit…)

Ink drawing on vellum-surface bristol paper, 9×12 inches, composited digitally.

Not for sale because the photograph it’s based on is not mine and the character of Kemlo Caesar is © America’s Best Comics
