Easter at Grandma’s house with candy and foreshadowing.
bird, girl, fifties style, formica, easter, candy, family, raven, omen, foreboding
Thanks so much, LisaBeth!
candy and foreshadowing? geez that’s hysterical. is it looming behind the sheers? is the bird the harbinger of doom? your painting is fabulous on more than a technical level, love the retro here and you are a heck of a sly story teller. Ha! Thanks evon ski! Most insightful! the element of foreshadowing can be seen directly in the bird, definitely a harbinger of doom, but i attempted to create a similar darkness of mood (contrasting with the candy and the outfits) thinking of Lynch films, and if there was a soundtrack to this piece, it would be a low, disturbing humming sound!
