Kouillou

Kouillou is a Western Lowland Gorilla. I took this photo of him at Howletts wildlife park. I sat and watched this guy for hours, when he finally sat still enough for me to get a shot of him . It was as if he was giving me his permission. He has such a wonderful character. I’m hoping to go back soon…..

Kouillou belongs to the following groups:

Animal Kingdom, Exotic Mammals, High Quality Animal Images - 1 Submission a Week, Primate Art, The Woman Photographer **7 Submissions a week only please** and World Wildlife Photography Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words…... Tony, I couldn’t agree more, I almost felt at one time he was smiling at me, he kept running off, then returning to where I was patiently waiting …

He’s looking right into our eyes. Who can look at a portrait like this and say animals dont have souls and their own intellegence? This is a moving portrait, thank you for sharing it.

We went to Howletts recently too..how did you manage to get him without the bars !! Wonderful

  • Stephie Butler

    Stephie Butler

Hi Pat, thank you…....It’s a fantastic place, although we haven’t been there in a while…. I took it with a zoom lens, 70-300mm. Focused in on his eyes. There was a very slight green tinge on one part from the bars, mostly cropped off, the tiny bit that was left I burnt in PS…
