I have been creative for as long I can remember……..whether with pencil, needle, sewing machine, woodworking tools and making wedding cakes to name a few.
I made my career as a draughtswoman, until raising a family put all non-practical art activities on hold.
I returned to painting around 2004, and fell in love with watercolours, and apart from a couple of workshops am mainly self- taught, with the help of Books and DVD’s. Painting took a back seat for a while after I started to take my own reference photos, and rapidly became absorbed in photography.
But my pencil and watercolour brush are now once again as busy as my camera..I am also exploring oil and pastels. My choices of subjects are as broad as my choice of media…..though Portraits are currently fascinating me and I’m now accepting commissions.
I will never stop exploring ways to express my creativity but Watercolour is definitely my first love. It’s so unpredictable, sometimes uncontrollable, which make for the excitement of it for me…….
As I use my maiden name for my art you may also find my work under various names: Stephanie Haddon, Stephie Haddon, Stephanie Butler, Stephie Butler.

This is a special painting for me as I entered my 1st competition at Ken Bromleys with it. I was absolutely thrilled that it made the short list for public voting. This for me is such an achievement and i’m over the moon to have even got that far….
I am thrilled to say I achieved 3rd place in the competition, and would like to thank all who voted & supported me….
I also truly feel so honoured to have had my painting Time to Reflect invited into the A Class of it’s Own Group
