love this portrait picture. Espectially love the different pupil sizes, from light and dark. Can i say without criticism that ‘her’ right nostril is it lite to highlight the contrast? or were you concentrating on the half shadow nose?
the whole face structure is superb the partial open mouth sets the emotional tone for me.
Steph Granshaw replied
thanks for your comments..regards the nose, my thinking behind my shading was that i just wanted to define the nose slightly on that side but the left to be very dark, not sure what you mean when you say “lite to highlight the contrast” can you explain? thanks once again :)
Enoeda

I was thinking that the shadow defines the depth of the portrait. the nose is a focal point, putting it on the cusp of the shadow (i like the word cusp, one hardly gets to use it ha ha ) defines the structure of the image. A symetrical face is suppose to be the most beautiful, casting the shadow down the middle re-enforces this. The hightlighting of the lea nostril breaks te spell, not a bad thing. remember, I do love this image.:)
Steph Granshaw replied
thanks so much…i appreciate your constructive criticism, my thoughts are that we never stop learning and can always learn from others that’s why i love RB..God Bless! :)
