Ode to RedBubble
A short poem in honour of the home we call “Our Red Bubble”.
This is loosely based on a the original version written in 1996 by K Weston entitled “I’m Just Gettin’ On For a Minute!”
“I’ll Only Upload a Few Photographs!”
I got up this morning, but haven’t yet dressed.
My dishes aren’t done, and my house is in rubble.
Have not done my work, have not fed the cat,
Got online for a second – Now I’m uploading to RedBubble !
I used to watch TV, PlayStation and Foxtel,
All I see now is the font of my DELL.
I used to wear suits, now its pajama’s all day,
The family is wondering how I earn my pay…
I wanna make my income from the internet,
But far too busy commenting on everyone’s art!
I wanted to photoshop, post-process and paint,
But with all the great work here – I’ll never start!
So much to photograph before I am in the grave!
I’m staying up late, till I’m very tired.
I’m too busy viewing, reviewing, making a ‘fave’,
Oh gawd, Now my internet’s expired!
Is there a 12 step support program or such?
If there was a group, I would like it just fine,
But is it really a sin to like RedBubble this much,
Or to keep uploading work till the ISP cuts off the line?
Are there really people who need the Net more than me?
Apart from flickr.com, What else do you need to see?
I’ve been uploading to RedBubble for only one week,
Already I’m classified as an “upload geek”.
My family always hear about my “RedBubble time!”,
They want me to find a way to stay OFF-Line!
All I can say is, “Please TXT me more food and water,
I’m staying on RedBubble for the rest of time!“

Ha ha. brilliant and there is no 12 step program because if Bubblers got together it would turn into a creative promtional meeting about the Bubble :)

Thank you Tracey. I must admit this is not entirely my life – I wrote it to represent all of us who enjoy and have some form of addiction to “RB”. But if I didn’t have a day-job, I’d either be photographing around Australia half the time and on here RB the rest of the time!

haha this is sooooooooo true about the bubble being so adictive, I always log in before the kettle boils in the morning, and the bubble is where i am at after school and b4 i go to bed, Long Live redbubble and the people who make it what it is….BRILLIANT
