This is not an eulogy, but awfully close to it.
Trouble is having a lot of trouble drinking and eating at the moment. He went all dizzy and disorientated a few days ago, and hasn’t been eating properly for a while. He is quite gaunt, plus lethargic.
The vet was quick to ascertain the TERRIBLE NEWS: Our precious boy might have cancer of the kidney.

So sorry to hear that Stephan, and I truly hope there`s something that can be done. He`s magnificent… I`ve got such a soft spot for the black ones :-)
You both have my very best wishes.
Thanks Billy, truly appreciated. Unfortunately the little man is slipping away.
Tomorrow morning he will have his last visit to the vet, that is if he doesn’t slip away during the night.

I hope it goes well mate if it is his last visit… I`ve had 2 experiences with that last visit, one of which was terrible cause the poor guy just didn`t wanna let go and it was prolonged and horrible and I actually cried my eyes out afterwards. The second time was beautifully peaceful as is should be if your vet knows well how to administer. If it comes to that, I`d recommend staying with him while he goes under. I believe they can sense what`s happening and if you love him, you need to be the last thing he sees.
Only one of our others died naturally at home. Two were hit by cars and scratch is happily still with us at 14 years. I find it amazing how emotional I get over our cats when their lives are in balance.
I wash you the very best of luck :-)
We’ll be with him, no doubt about that.

So sorry about your sweet boy, Stephen….. it’s such a rough time. Just try to remember that you gave him a good home, lots of love and shared a good life with him. Can’t ask for more than that in life. Take care!
So true Wendi, thanks for the great comment!
