Bottle in Hand by Stephen Mitchell

Small (15.6" x 23.2")

Available to buy on…

Whilst talking with a new friend who happened to be someone my wife went to school with a long time ago, I suddenly saw this interesting shadow on his chest, the light through the bottle, the colour of his skin, the lines of his shirt … and saw that all the elements were in perfect contrast to each other.

I stepped backward to capture the shot, so he swung away thinking I was shooting beyond him.

Quickly I asked him to step back in. He instinctively brought the bottle back to his chest .. and the moment was still there.

I shot one photograph to test the light, a second with the flash on, but with its power decreased, and a third after I took a half step to the left. This is the 3rd shot. There are parts of the moment I would love to do over, yet I still love the final result!

Camera: Canon 50D
