The Half Way Tree (between Winnipeg & Brandon MB)
This large cottonwood tree stands on the south side Trans Canada Hwy#1 near MacGregor MB and is said to be roughly half way between the Manitoba cities of Winnipeg & Brandon. There is another tree on north side and few miles east of this tree that is said to be the true half way tree, but it doesn’t stand out as well as this one. This is a true landmark tree, it can be seen from miles away in both directions.
The Half Way Tree (between Winnipeg & Brandon MB) belongs to the following groups:

I saw that tree on CBC I think drove through that way last year but was not sure which tree was which
Stephen Thomas replied
This is the same tree that CBC had a story about a while back. I took Easter Sunday 2008 and the CBC story aired before that. Like I said in the description, you can’t miss seeing this tree, you can see it from miles away from both directions on the hi-way.

I adore the shape of a tree sketched against the sky, and this Cottonwood is just beautiful! Trees are amazing Teachers. I’m grateful that my husband doesn’t mind stopping for me when a sight like this catches my eye and the camera is at hand.
:) wishing you laughter
