60cm x 40cm

A small work using the ideas of love, sacrifice, birth and death.
The big beetles are male and female.
I’d like to share my idea about how I differentiated the sexes: I made the male larger but I also blessed him with bigger jaws. The lady beetle has large antennae to suggest the female quality of sensing things.
I’m not saying all males are aggressive and all females have intuition.. maybe I’m just describing relationships where different qualities can combine to make things work…

Here the beetle couple have been busy impaling smaller beetles to the idol that represents love.
I didnt say the big beetles were friendly!!

Thanks for looking!
