between worlds by Stephen Mclaren

oil on cartrige paper glued to wood panel 1998
40cm x 30cm (approx)
One of my Celtic sea pictures. One shell drawing seen in a pub and a ten year desire to emulate Celtic art culminated in scenes like this.

I will try to track down the original and get a better digital image of this. I think it is still in Edinburgh.
I used to sell work and not keep track of the basic details. I would like a decent print of this myself!!

As of November 2010, this painting has received 552 views. Thankyou to you all for taking the time!

fab! fab! fab!~~~ as in FAAAAAABULOUS!

  • Shucks Lynnette I knew you’d like to see this. I wish I had a decent photo to give it justice. Do you like the yellow shield? Its a bona fida celtic design… three spiraling sperm. Not sure how the celts knew what spermatozoa looked like. Maybe they just liked tadpoles…

Thankyou for taking the time to see my work! I was inspired by celtic art for a few years so I enjoyed inventing new bends in the body! How is life in portugal? Are you painting today??
