About 30 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona just off the 89 lies the Wupatki National Monument. Built by the Puebloan people in the 1100s, this is a must visit when in the area.

Taken in RAW and in manual mode with a Nikon D300s and a Sigma 10/20 lens (with a 0.6 nd filter attached), set at a focal length of 10mm. F stop of 11 and a shutter speed was 1/30th sec, white balance was set to fine weather and metering was done in matrix.

Superb Stephen, fantastic contrast between the rock and sky . Its funny , I am quite often guilty in thinking the states has very little old history ,its easy to forget that life was going on long before the white man came on the scene . Excellent work . Kind regards, Mark.

  • Thanks so much for the kind comment Mark, this really is a remarkable place to visit. Just why these people left there home behind is still to be explained.
