The Trent and Mersey Canal and the River Weaver are located in the village of Anderton, Cheshire, in north-west England. The Anderton boat lift provides a 50-foot (15.2 m) vertical link between the two navigable waterways.

Taken resting the camera on the floor, to gain a low perspective, with a Nikon D300s and a Sigma 10/20 lens, set at a focal length of 20mm. Shot in Manual mode and in RAW. F32, ISO 100 and a shutter speed of 0.5 sec, other settings include White balance set to fine conditions and metering was set to Matrix.
