My name is Stephen Thomas Green and I am a local artist/photographer living in Bath In the uk.

I finished my degree in Fine Art Media last year and are continuing as a practicing artist in the area.

My interests include, culture, human perception, behaviour, and on occasion I use diverse sources to influence my work. Such as, apes, other animals, and vegetables.
A previous project for instance involved taking a turnip on holiday and photographing it in different social situations. I did this to try understand better our perceptions of human persona by attempting to give an object a personality.

I use alternative processes as well some more modern to create my work. I believe that “using a box with a hole in it to take a picture can make as good a photograph as using any other type of camera”. But I also believe in “using the right tool for the job”.

Whatever means I use to create an image. I favour deconstructing form, removing detail to reveal the shapes and essence of the captured light which reflect the scene or subject. I use contrast filters and other means such as pushing film speeds to brake down the image.

I mainly work in black and white but use colour also depending on what I wish to capture. If I am to use colour I particularly like the usage of slide film because of the quality and feel of the finished photograph. I Use digital cameras when there is a need for the photographs to be completed quickly, I also find them extremely effective in low light level conditions.

I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I like creating it.
