Stephen Wesley Gorton is an artist, teacher and writer.

His work has been exhibited widely in Australia, North America and Europe, both in solo exhibitions and group retrospective shows of 19th and 20th Century American and European Masters.

" Gorton’s work compares favourably with the best 19th and 20th Century American and European Masters. "
Anthony L. Field, Expert Member of the French Art Dealer’s Association

He has been described as a Figurative Expressionist but he has painted in a variety of styles that largely relate to the different periods of his forty-year career. From his early Surreal Period to later Figurative works in oils, ranging from Realism to Expressionism and Semi-Abstract works. It is difficult to put a single label on Stephen’s work, and he likes it that way.

Stephen is also an author, a teacher and the founding director of Sydney’s Paddington Art School.

The Paddington Art School Facebook Page:
