What a great morning. Out early before work taking some images of the wind farm at Portland. As I leant against the car a Koala emerged from the bush about twenty metres from me and started to slowly walk towards me along the roadside.
I sat down quietly thinking it would be scared but it walked right up, sat near my feet and allowed me to take a range of images and then slowly ambled down to the side of the car where it sat looking at its own image being reflected. After trying to paw at itself there for about ten minutes it slowly walked off back into the scrub.
What an experience!!!!
For anyone from overseas I must tell you this just normally doesn’t happen with Koala’s, they are shy and usually steer away from humans unless in captivity.
Shot with my brand new Canon 7D that I was using for only the second time, coupled with 17 -85 lens.
