Always one or two in a crowd.....
Yes their back! The ladybirds from Mount Burr made an emergence yesterday with thousands massing in a number of spots within the forest.
This group were huddled together in their hundreds on a power pole just above ground level.
As with all things in life there is always one or two who stand out in a crowd.
Canon 400D 18-55 taken at night with aid of a speedlight. Processed in Photo shop CS3.

Always one or two in a crowd..... belongs to the following groups:

Amazing pic Steve, nicely done. One of the strangest sights I’ve ever seen was at 14,000 feet, on the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii (where there is nothing but volcanic cinders); I had to have a leak, and when I did, dozens of these wee beasts crawled out of the ground. What were they doing there, en masse, in such a sterile environment? Answers on a postcard please, to…

Thanks Duncan. What an amazing story. Thanks very much for the visit.

This is fabulous Steve. SC is so appropriate here! I’ve never seen ladybirds en masse (except in your pictures), so it’s very fascinating!
