Not quite washed ashore Steve. HDR works well here bringing up textures and highlights without giving that cartoonish / unreal-graphic-art sort of look. Really great.
Heather Rivet...
wow fantastic

I Iike the way the greens contrast with the somberness of the clouds, the sea, and the rest of the boat.

Did you find out any of the history of the vessel.
Steve Chapple replied
Very little yet John. Apparently around 11 years ago a chap sailed the vessel on it’s maiden trip from W.A. heading to the East coast. He came in a little too close to shore near carpenters and hit a reef, the vessel then got blown in shore.
Evidently he couldn’t get approvals to get vehicles onto the beach to help with salvage so there she stayed. I have a photo now of the stern and am trying to decipher the name and then will get some more detail.
Thanks for the comments.

This is fantastic Steve. My shots look nothing like this! (though I do have one of you taking this pic!!!)
Steve Chapple replied
Yours will be fine. I await that pano!!!! Its fine that you managed to get me, it will look a bit like a whale in the water I reckon!!!!!!

Excellent shot … puts mine to shame for the night :)
Reflexio – Breif history: This vessel was on it first voyage with an inexperienced sailor. It came over the reef in a storm which surprised the locals because it would have had to come across on its side. It then beached in this spot.
Cost was too great to salvage through the Native Park & no chance of getting it back across the reef, so it was stripped and the shell left in the surf.
Steven Agius
Great find Steve and well captured !

Actually I got a photo of Angie standing in the water taking a photo just before a wave filled her rubber boots :)
Steve Chapple replied
Thanks Wayne for the comment and better info. Found out from Angie today about her boot’s full!!!
Antanas
wonderful work
Alan Coote
Love the composition here – any danger in you getting wet (or heaven forbid, your camera)?
Steve Chapple replied
This one is only out on extremely low tides. Would have been less than a foot of water where I was standing, there’s a fair hole caused by swell right up close to the boat, but I did get a little wet getting round to the back….but no water on the camera!!!!
Tracey Mac
You KNOW I love this one….now I’ll have to get the matching pair…..
This didnt come up in my comments page….not sure why or I would have been first to comment LOL….
