Thank you all, not sure if anyone noticed but sitting above the main connecting shaft at the top is a black silhouette, looks almost like a small figure with wings, still can’t work that out as there was nothing above the main shaft there….interesting!!!!!

I’ve never seen a ferris wheel shot like this – it’s fascinating!
Hans Kawitzki
what an amazing image it must have been a mighty long exposure
Steve Chapple replied
Hans, around 40 seconds, the Ferris Wheel is small and turns quite rapidly and the outer buckets have lighting which helps with the effect!
Megan Martin
WOW! This is amazing…it looks like its going incredibly fast!
Steve Chapple replied
Thank you Megan, probably close to 40 second exposure once it started turning, it is only a small wheel so it was not that fast!
Michael Rowley...

Thank you Michael, appreciated!

“trippy” was the first word that sprang to mind, but that does not do justice to how clever this is. I love night shots and long exposures (more so because I have yet to get a handle on them!) This is a fantastic result.

Very cool Stephen. The long exposure has really worked a treat on this one. I sure wouldn’t want to be riding a Ferris Wheel that is spinning that fast!! :P

This is a fascinating image and really shows how the ordinary can become extraordinary. The depth the movement has created is surreal and intruiging. Wonderful shot.
