Invincible

That excuse of an injured boy in his eyes,
It’s too thin of a pathetic disguise
To fool these trained pupils into believing
Things that I’ve learned to not trust seeing.
I do happen to know what will become of me;
A thought, a whisper in the gentle breeze,
Streaming down his unexpecting neck
While he walks off into a future with tall steps.
