This piece is a graphic / digital artwork I came up with to pay
homage to the ‘blonde bombshell’ Marilyn Monroe.

Andy Warhol and Peter Max were a big part of my youth in the 60’s –
I loved their work. And they became a huge influence in my artwork.

It turns out that Peter Max was a little boy in Shanghai, China where he
lived in a Jewish Refugee Camp during World War II with his
family – and my mother knew him and his family (as she also lived in the
camp after fleeing Berlin with her family).

In my artwork, I’ve always enjoyed bright color and design —-  Growing up in the 60’s, it was the era of art which I loved and I was greatly influenced by with such artists as: Andy Warhol, Peter Max & Roy Lichtenstein.  Animation was also a big part of my childhood, and I loved the way things were outlined boldly in black – so much of my artwork seems to take on an ‘animation feel’ as well.
