Portait of Kestriminhad

Khazarizhad and Haristal had one child, Kestriminhad, Kestri, for short. Khazarizhad doted on his son, who, unfortunately, did not live for long into his toddlerhood, but was much loved by all Cereans.

Khazarizhad determined that his DNA had been damaged irrevocably by his passage between the dimensions, and he would never be able to produce viable offspring, so he never tried to have another child. He was, tragically, the last of his kind, but with his life-span so long, he eventually began to think of himself as immortal.

Kestri is shown here holding his favorite teething ring, made for him with love by Cerean craftspeople, inset with a toxin-free enamel glazed esazhie, but what Kestri really loved was the smoothness of the rubbery ring and the little tuleret, or bell, which made a lovely silvery tinkle inside the toy.

Beautiful drawing. I enjoyed reading your story too, You should add this to Art and Stories Made for Children group.

Thank you, but the story isn’t a children’s story. It’s actually just a bit of expository of characters in a novel which I’m in the process of writing, and it is adult oriented science fiction.

However, I am writing a children’s tale which will eventually have illustrations, too.
