Helga, sitting very noble and proud on the river bank in the snow.
Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), one of 5 remaining subspecies of tiger. The Amur tiger (formally known as Siberian) has the longest pelage (coat) of any of the other subspecies due to the cold climate that they live in. All tigers have four canines, and they only ever turn ‘man-hunter’ when they are old or sick and more than two of the canines are broken. The Amur tigers are the largest of all tigers, weighing in at as much as 700 pounds-though 400-600 is more common.
