Beggar selling candles, on the stairs of a church during a religion local fair…
“The wealth of the Greek Church is huge. The state has not recorded it, also the leadership of Church of Greece declares officially that it does not know the financial elements of abbeys, monasteries and temples because each metropolis, abbey, temple and monastery has its own economic management. The profits of the Greek Church come from offers, from renting its huge number of buildings and lands and from stocks in the Stock market. The Greek Church does not pay taxes to the Greek state.”
The image was shot with a Nikon D90 SLR camera with Shutter Speed: 1/30 second, F Number: F/2.8, Focal Length: 28 mm, ISO Speed: 1600.
It was shot outside a church at night, with fairly low light using no flash and the camera was handheld. I tried to capture the extreme begging expression of this lady between two indifferent passers by, so I had to shoot 4 or 5 shots in order for her face not to be covered by the bodies of the passers by. The image was converted in PS CS3 from raw to B/W and then contrast and sharpness were adjusted. No farther post-processing was needed except for cropping square
