This painting of Swaledales on the moors of the Yorkshire Dales I was inspired to paint as soon as I saw Rick’s (Rickster1) stunning photo Braveheart of The Dales. I am so pleased he gave me permission to use his image. I love the generosity of spirit that Redbubble fosters and it is great to be able to collaborate with artists of all mediums. It is interesting working from photos because normally I might not have cut off the sheep on the left but I thought it was so good on the original image that I replicated it here. I think it gives it a real feel of edginess. (sorry about the pun). The Impressionist painters were amongst the first to cut people off at the edges, influenced by the then new art form of photography. Thank you Rick!
