I’m your back door alley
You know, the place you forget
He strips me of these metallics
Glimmer glimmer down dead
I find myself lost in his cave
Escape from that alley of disease infested waters
Holding myself against rock and shame
Wondering when that yellow circle sun left
And I can’t throw this away, no not now
I can’t forget what I’ve given
It’s this blood in me that keeps stuck
It’s that look in his eyes that paralyzes me numb
But deep down there was this thing I remembered
It looked so familiar to me as it came to me and sighed
“Love comes over and around again from the back
She’ll wash away your imperfect black nights.”
So I waited until morning and awoke to find lilies
The ones he gave me from so long ago
The ones I thought had washed away and vanished to black
The ones I thought he had destroyed, but here they are fully intact.

This is absolutely beautifully written. There is a complex message here for me. Duty, disappointment, hopefulness, confusion, reality… love. Very nice work Stacy!!!
