The Leaning Tower
The Leaning Tower of Pisa or simply The Tower of Pisa (Torre di Pisa) is the bell tower or campanile of the Cathedral of Pisa, its building began in 1174 by Bonanno Pisano, but when the tower reached the third storey began sinking into the ground, so the works was suspended for 90 years. It was completed at half of 14th century with the crown on the campanile.
The top of the Leaning Tower can be reached climbing 294 steps. On the top there are seven bells tuned to musical scale. The height of this very famous masterpiece in Romanesque style is 55.86 m from the ground on the lowest side and 56.70 m on the highest one.
