On intent, vision and style

Every frame that doesn’t quite express my intent, my style and my vision is one step closer to the one that does

I want to be doing something that is new for me, not abandon my past but that takes me out of my comfort zone (just a bit), something that opens new doors in my life, something that forces me to stop, look and listen, breathe deeply, and opens my mind and eyes to my own personal vision.

A note to my RedBubble friends

I wanted to let everyone know that I am starting work first thing in the morning, my first science job since finishing my PhD. I have been offered fulltime work at a Hobart marine enviornmental consultant and of course I have accepted, its a business I really want to work for.

This means though that my time on Redbubble will be extremely limited as it looks like the workload in my new job will be very hectic as the business has just landed a very big contract and its all hands (old and new) on deck. I can’t wait, although there is a little bit of apprehension too, but its all good and hopefully this job will be ongoing. Finally a fulltime job with fulltime money….its been so long. In fact its been 19 years since I had a full-time job, 9 years of being a mum (although that …

Stop it!

Can everybody on RB stop being so damn good, my watchlist is getting completely out of hand and I’m discovering more and more everyday and have no desire to remove anyone (no-one is going backwards in their production of beautiful and imaginative images).

It looks like I’m doomed to have way to many newle uploaded images from my watchlist to sort through everytime I log on.

Seriously though its inspirational how good the imagery is….magical

Thank you for continually raising the bar

Hello I'm back!

What an awe inspiring place New Zealand is. We only spent 10 days on the north of the North Island, but wow! Bay of Islands, an unspoilt paradise (compared to somewhere like the Whitsundays in Oz), Otama Bay on the Coromandel Peninsular, Hahei Beach, the list is long and the sighs just kept coming everytime we turned a bend.

Its definitely a yachty’s paradise and we found exactly what we were looking for….so many places to come back to on the boat. NZ, the parts we saw anyway was refreshingly charming, the people friendly and not full of highrise, the trendy or the well heeled necessarily…..although we did see some very impressive architecture in the houses that sit along the coastal fringe…..very nice, very expensive in places.

I took over a 1000 shots (and I w…

Back Soon

Hello to all my friends here on RB. I will not be online for the next week and a half. We are going on a well earned post PhD thesis holiday (with the camera of course) so won’t be able to comment on all your wonderful images for a little while. I will try and log on from time to time but I suspect we will not have a heap of “down time” to do that sort of thing. We are going on a bit of a reconnaisance mission to look for places suitable to take our yacht to when we eventually take off cruising the Pacific (our retirement plans).

Please don’t feel neglected or rejected by me. I will catch up with every one on my return and hopefully have some wonderful images to post.

cheers and kind regards to all
Happy captures

In the next 12 months

A long time ago I was not very happy with the way things were in my life, so I made a list of what I wanted to achieve and how I wanted my life to look in 2 years time. I found that list about 4 years later and strangely all those “wishes” had eventuated…How did that happen?Just right now I am feeling a bit “underdone” not doing justice to this awesome new camera I have bought. So I decided to make a new list, you never know…… So ….here goes

In the next 12 months I want :)
1. To have taken enough great photos to put together a calendar for Christmas, one that I’m proud of each and every shot and to give it as a gift to my family

2. To have enough good photos on RB that I feel happy about removing the rest

3. To have learned good land…
