A Child Alone

Child in the dark
Tryin’ to find a way
Out of the streets
Where he’s sent to play

Flash in the night
Silence broken aloud
Sulfur burning stench
As he runs in the crowd

The blood on his hands
It is not his own
From predator to prey
He must run all alone

He learns the hard lesson
Of how to take the heat
Covers his emotions
His education complete

A Child Alone

Artist's Description

This writing was extracted from a song I wrote around the time that the Seattle Grunge scene started to happen. The Original title was “Fear…Not I” I wasn’t sure if I should put this up, but was strongly urged by Darlene to added it. So I did. I hope you enjoy it!
