The Fishing Shack

I took this picture last winter in West Pennant, Nova Scotia Canada. I just learned that it was destroyed by sub tropical storm Noel.

I have a real love of this image for a very special reason. Not only is it so nicely done, it was my Great Grandfathers fishing shack. I used to lobster fish with my Dad from this wharf. Long before the sun rose in the morning I would be locked in the shed while my father would drive to the other side of the harbour to bring the boat across. There were rumours that shack was haunted so it was often a nerve wrecking experience but I wouldn’t trade the experience or memories for anything.
