Frank White
graphite on watercolor paper 2008
I made this drawing in homage to my favorite rapper, The Notorious B.I.G. who sometimes went by the alias Frank White, which was the name of a character played by Christopher Walkin in one of my favorite movies, King of New York. I originally was gonna put ink over it, but I liked the outline too much so I left it unfinished.
at the time when i made this i was listening mostly to two songs from Notorious B.I.G., from the album Ready To Die, one was that song where he goes “i live fo tha funk, i die fo tha funk” and the other one was “who shot ya” where in the instrumental you here a female voice saying “as long as you live and breathe…. another day…. another day…”
