My Entry In the PhotoShop Masters Group – srcreations

First off I am honored to be picked for a Photoshop Masters Interveiw.

1: Tell me something about the image?

Well in the creation of Close 2 You was inspired by the movie MirrorMask one of my favorite movies at this time and has actually inspired a series of works that will be coming soon. The idea behind Close 2 You was to create in my own creative mind the doll chamber where the main character is transformed from the Light to Shadow worlds.

2: How did you create it?

I have recently been moving more and more into the use of multiple digital mediums such as vector, 3d, digital painting, aswell as photography. Close 2 You was created with the mixture of 3d aspects, digital painting and photomanipulation. The arms aswell as the joints were created using poser and 3dsMax. The body form was aswell as background and texturing were of coarse photography with joints and touch ups in digital painting.

3: What version of PhotoShop did you use?
Photoshop cs2

4: Any tips or tricks you would like to Share?
Wow this is a big question.
1) Experiment!! Never stop experimenting with new things new ideas new programs ect.. work everything you can into your work play with it experience what you can do with each element. I have even gone as far as looking through tutorials on making signitures to working with filters. Yes using filters can if used to much be hazardous but in moderation.
2) Inspiration!! Inspiration is around us all. Open your eyes and see the world from your digital pallette. Inspiration can be found everywhere.. from the tv, music, movies or ust stepping outside and looking at the sky. Always keep your eyes and mind wondering. THEN WRITE THEM DOWN. I have lost so many great ideas cause I didnt write them down.

5: How did you go about learning PhotoShop?

Everything that I have learned in PhotoShop or any other program has been completely self taught. I just decided one day that I needed to upgrade from PaintShop Pro (which I used for several years) if I ever really wanted to get into graphic design. I have since then taught myself everything that I could outside of school. (which is the next step) Though school can help learn the use of PhotoShop. It is a creative tool so a instructor cant teach you everything the rest is experimenting The net to be honest is your best teacher there are tutorials everywhere.
